A Grateful Warmth on Chap Goh Meh

Chap Goh Meh - For most people, the first things comes into mind was the occasion of throwing tangerines i guessed. As for Chinese, there's a legend saying that there's a chance for those unmarried women throwing tangerines into the sea can get a good husband when their tangerine is picked up by that particular person. It is also called the Chinese Valentine's Day. Chap Goh Meh is actually represents the last day of Chinese New Year as well. For me, it's not about throwing tangerine and getting a good husband.  If I had the chance, I guessed I would love to spend time dining together with my family, especially eating mom's home cook food. At first, I was feeling a bit out of the mood as I'm feeling a little lonely here. Though it is such entertaining in the city, with all the events and parties all around, but I'm still feeling empty. People seems attached, but I'm just home alone here. And I don't feel a sense of belonging here. Felt so much lonely in such a cold windy night, furthermore the drizzling makes me felt even colder. Suddenly makes me missing home so much.
Fortunately I got a call from Fat Babe, he's gonna bring me out for a meal. So off we go, to the Harbour Steamboat Restaurant in Sri Petaling. I was so thankful coz he is here with me tonight, enjoying the simple yet delicious steamboat dinner. For this cold and rainy night, I felt so much warm having the steamboat, but even warmer with him around. For tonight, he takes away all my anxiety and loneliness in me. I'm thankful that I had him around. :)

♥ Lovely Valentine's ♥

A fine valentine's dining is always expensive. The good part is we managed to get some pics home, after spending so much on this dinner, which nearly blew his pocket. :)

❤ Valentine's Dinner @ Senja Saujana

A last minute option turns out unexpectedly magnificent. Lucky that he agreed in choosing this place instead of The Omega, that he initially planned to go. The ambience was superb, the surroundings are well decorated. We're actually able to dine outside on the wooden platform with the spectacular night view of a lake, but we chose to sit inside since we reserved indoor at the first place, and it's quite a bit of a windy night as well. With all the ❤ -shaped valentine's sign hanging around the ceilings make this dining fill with romantic atmosphere. I was certain that all the couples there enjoyed themselves. We had a 3-piece jazz band entertaining us during our meal. Too bad we sat too close to that, seems a lil' too loud for us to talk to each other... However the petite vocalist managed to catch our attention as she had quite a very nice and strong voice.
As for food, everyone here had the same valentine's meals, as all ala carte menu is not available for tonight, they only serve the special Italian Valentine's menu by Chef Giovanni's. (Sources are here)

We had the Salmon Carpaccio on rucola leaves for a starter. Hmm, I felt funny myself when i guessed i read his thought that he would be thinking 'how very small portion it is', but anyhow, the taste was very good.
Next was the Tomato soup with the black truffle serve like a cocktail. Okay, it's not just an ordinary tomato soup, it is simply feel light yet delicious. The way it was uniquely presented already won some points, as  it made me feel like I'm gonna get my special cocktail of the day. :) Erm... Just imagining a bit, we actually ordered red wine for both. Had a couples of sip while enjoying the sentimental jazz and people watching.
As for it's main course, both of us chose the Rack of lamb instead of the fillet of cod fish, I totally like it! Especially the mustard crust. I remembered he was saying that it tasted a bit like Indian spices in it. *GRINNING*
I should bring him to try out more of the western cuisine once in a while i think, coz he is better in identifying the ingredient than me. I only know how to eat. Haha.
We waited quite a while for the Watermelon & Lime sorbet to be served. I can see he's gluttonous expression when he took it in a big gulp. Of course, it had been special to us, and we both might have love it coz we don't get the chance to get a watermelon taste sorbet that much. Last but not least, the dessert - Banana split with Love! We both found that it was truly amazing! I really fall in love with it as soon as i tasted it. I wondered how the Chef did this, but its totally different from the one we usual had. It was so scrumptious till it ended our meal with a lovely and wonderful feeling. And we got ourselves a gift too, a handmade chocolate pralines for him and a sweet rose for me.
For tonight, I have to admit that I'm pleased, even though he did not managed to book by his own, I'm still thankful that he's willing to bring me here. Thanks Babe!
